The company

Small company. Serious software.

Red Taverns Labs Inc. is a Canadian software company, federally incorporated and registered in Ontario, operating as Red Taverns, based in Ottawa, Ontario.

We build software for organizations that run on volunteers — starting with Toastmasters, the organization we know from the inside. Volunteer organizations get a raw deal from software: enterprise tools priced for enterprises, or free tools that look and feel free. We think a district council deserves tooling as serious as a shareholder meeting, at a price a volunteer treasurer can defend.

The story

Red Taverns started inside Toastmasters District 61 — a bilingual district with real problems: council votes run on spreadsheets, unilingual members left out of meetings, district data trapped in dashboards. Founder Ron Servant built tools to fix his own district’s meetings; other districts asked for them; a company followed. District 61 still runs on Red Taverns software, and everything we ship is still tested there first.

How we build

The principles.

Boring tech, small surface area.

Fewer moving parts means fewer 11 pm failures at your AGM.

Bilingual by default.

Built in a French-English district; every governance product speaks both.

Audit trails where it matters.

Votes carry a cryptographic hash chain. Trust, verifiable.

Priced for volunteer budgets.

Flat, published prices. No per-seat games. Paddle handles tax in your country.
