Thirty years of software that has to work

Ron Servant has spent thirty years building software that has to work — telecom systems at Nortel Networks and Innovance, fourteen years at IBM as a developer and then software development manager, and since 2017 at JSI Telecom in Ottawa, where he is Director of Software Development, leading the teams behind mission-critical communications-intelligence systems. He studied at the University of Waterloo.

…and years inside the organizations he builds for

He has also spent years inside the organizations he now builds for. A Distinguished Toastmaster — Toastmasters International’s highest educational award — Ron has served District 61 (Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, a bilingual district of ~150 clubs) as District Director twice — in 2019–2020 and again in 2025–2026. He has chaired the meetings, counted the credentials, wrangled the spreadsheets, and sat through the AGMs that Red Taverns products now quietly fix.

That combination is the company: enterprise-grade engineering discipline, applied to organizations that could never afford it — until now.

Red Vote ran its first district council in District 61, and District 61 runs on it still. Red Table exists because Ron watched unilingual members miss half their own council meeting. Toast Stats exists because he wanted the answer to “how is my district actually doing?” to be one URL, free, for everyone.

“Volunteer organizations deserve software built like it matters. Someone just had to sit in enough of their meetings to build it.”
